This directive requires owners/operators of Gulfstream (Grumman American) AA‑5 aeroplanes (serials AA5‑0001 to AA5‑0209) to thoroughly clean and inspect all rudder, aileron and elevator control cables following Grumman American Service Bulletin No.127A. Controls must be moved to full deflection so the cable–pulley contact areas can be examined. Compliance is mandatory within 100 hours’ time‑in‑service after 29 November 1974 and then every 100 hours; the owner/operator bears the inspection and maintenance cost and must schedule recurring checks.
