| Background: | An A330-200 series aeroplane, with Rolls Royce engines installed, was diverted following an extensive fuel leak. During the diversion, both engines shutdown due to lack of fuel. The resulting emergency landing was successful. Fuel management by the flight crew was considered to have directly contributed to the total loss of fuel. The original issue of this Directive gave a fuel leak procedure for the flight crew to follow after an in-flight fuel leak has been detected. This amendment now reflects that the manufacturer has published temporary revision to the AFM, which details fuel management procedures. |
| The original issue of this AD became effective on 2 October 2003. |
