AD/A330/106 - Rudder Side Shell Skin - CANCELLED

This document cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/A330/106) that required specific maintenance on the rudder side shell skin (the outer covering of the aircraft's tail fin) for Airbus A330 aeroplanes.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Airbus A330 aircraft registered in Australia.

What has changed:

• The old Australian directive is cancelled as of 23 February 2010.
• Operators must now follow a European safety standard instead (EASA AD 2010-0021), issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency on 9 February 2010.

Why it matters: This avoids duplicate or conflicting rules. Rather than complying with a separate Australian requirement, operators must follow the newer European directive to ensure the aircraft's rudder remains airworthy. This harmonisation ensures Australian-registered A330s meet the same safety standards as those operating in Europe.
