Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Airbus A319, A320 and A321 aeroplanes (unless they’ve already incorporated specified Airbus modifications or a service bulletin) to carry out initial and repeated inspections of the passenger and emergency door actuator striker mechanism to prevent jamming that could delay evacuation.

Operators pay for inspections and any repairs; the Civil Aviation Safety Authority enforces compliance by requiring the inspection actions set out in DGAC AD 1998-482-122(B) R1. Amendment 2 removes a prior applicability reference, bringing more aircraft into the inspection requirement.
