Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Airbus A319/A320/A321 aeroplanes fitted with certain PPG Aerospace windshields (by part and serial numbers listed in Airbus AOT A320-56A1010 Revision 1) to remove, scrap and replace those windshields by 30 June 2002. CASA issued the AD after an A320 windshield failed due to internal power‑lead overheating caused by manufacturing damage. The AD imposes a clear compliance deadline and places the operational and compliance burden on aircraft operators.
