Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This amendment revokes the earlier AD and reissues a requirement that operators of Airbus A319/A320/A321 aircraft (as listed in DGAC AD 2001-384(B)R1) must repair or replace certain Messier Bugatti parking-brake operating valves per the DGAC instructions. The AD is effective 16 May 2002 with a compliance deadline of 31 December 2002.

The valves can leak hydraulic fluid and risk depleting the Yellow hydraulic system, which could disable alternate and emergency braking. Aircraft owners/operators must carry out the work and bear the compliance costs.
