AD/A320/10 - Standby Pitot Line - CANCELLED

What this is: This document officially cancels an old airworthiness directive (a safety rule) that applied to Airbus A319, A320, and A321 aircraft.

What the original rule did: Back in 1990, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority required airlines to modify the "pitot lines" (the tubes that carry air pressure to the plane's speedometers) on these Airbus models. The fix removed low points in the tubing where water could collect and freeze, which could cause incorrect airspeed readings.

Why it's being cancelled: The deadline to complete these modifications was 31 December 1990. Since all affected aircraft would have been inspected and fixed nearly 20 years ago, the rule is now redundant.

What happens now: The cancellation removes the legal requirement from the books, though in practice this changes nothing for operators because the work was completed decades ago. This is essentially regulatory housekeeping.
