This directive requires owners/operators of Agusta A109A and A109AII helicopters fitted with the specified Superflexit fuel tanks to inspect and modify those tanks per Agusta B.T. No. 109‑57. Initial compliance is due at the next Maintenance Release after 31 Oct 1986 or before 31 Jan 1987, with repeat inspections every four years. Its stated purpose is to prevent fuel leaks from bladder damage caused by pressure‑hose/clamp stress; compliance imposes inspection/modification costs and recurring maintenance obligations on operators.
