Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

Mechanically, this Airworthiness Directive requires all Agusta A109E helicopters to have the transmission support fitting bolts inspected, torque-checked and corrected as set out in Agusta Technical Bulletin 109EP-43 Parts I and II. The AD was issued because in-service bolts fractured from fatigue after being under-torqued. It affects A109E operators and maintenance organisations, who must complete the work within the short compliance windows (5 and 25 flight hours) and bear the maintenance and scheduling costs while CASA enforces compliance under CASR subreg 39.1(1).
