Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This regulation provides a simple federal "lookup list" naming which state and territory relationship registration schemes count as official "registered relationships" for Commonwealth law.
Couples registered under the listed Victorian, Tasmanian, ACT, NSW, Queensland and South Australian schemes are treated as partners for federal purposes (tax, social security, immigration, super, etc.) without having to prove de facto criteria. It does not create relationships.
