### 29A Application of national standards of weights and measures

> > (1) On and after the date from which, by virtue of the operation of the [Commonwealth Act](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-9999-999#) , the Commonwealth legal units of measurement of a physical quantity are the sole legal units of measurement of that physical quantity, a reference in any Act to a unit of measurement of that physical quantity shall, if there is a Commonwealth legal unit of measurement of that physical quantity of the same name and unless the contrary intention appears, be read as a reference to that Commonwealth legal unit of measurement.
