#### 68 Directions to electors 68 Directions to electors > The directions to electors must include a direction that the elector— > > > (a) must record a vote on the ballot paper by placing the number “1” in the square opposite the name of the candidate for whom the elector desires to give the elector’s first preference vote, and > > > (b) may, if the elector wishes, vote for additional candidates by placing consecutive numbers beginning with the number “2” in the squares opposite the names of those additional candidates in the order of the elector’s preferences for them.
