18 Council must determine how to act on report S. 18(1) amended by No. 11/2016 s. 15(2). (1) This section applies if the Council— (a) receives a report under section 17; and S. 18(1)(b) amended by No. 11/2016 s. 15(3). (b) is satisfied that the report relates to Aboriginal ancestral remains. S. 18(2) amended by No. 11/2016 s. 15(4). (2) The Council must— (a) inform the person who gave the report of the person's obligations under section 19 (if applicable); and S. 18(2)(b) amended by No. 11/2016 s. 15(5). (b) after taking reasonable steps to consult with any Aboriginal person or body the Council believes may have an interest in the Aboriginal ancestral remains, determine the appropriate course of action to be taken in relation to the Aboriginal ancestral remains.
