COMPARISON WITH IAS 14
AASB 114 and IAS 14
AASB 114 Segment Reporting as amended incorporates IAS 14 Segment Reporting as issued and amended by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). AASB 114 applies to a broad range of for-profit reporting entities. IAS 14 applies more narrowly to entities whose equity or debt securities are publicly traded and to entities that are in the process of issuing equity or debt securities in public securities markets. Paragraphs that have been added to this Standard (and do not appear in the text of IAS 14) are identified with the prefix “Aus”, followed by the number of the preceding IASB paragraph and decimal numbering.
Compliance with IAS 14
Entities that comply with AASB 114 as amended will simultaneously be in compliance with IAS 14 as amended. Certain disclosure requirements for reporting impairment losses by segment are included in AASB 136 Impairment of Assets, paragraphs 129 and 130.
