R LASSETER v. BLACKTOWN CITY COUNCIL [1994] NSWLEC 24 (3 March 1994)
This is a claim for compensation in respect of the resumption on 31 May 1991 ("the resumption date") by the Respondent ("the Council") of a parcel of land situate at Seven Hills and known as Lot 13 DP 730891 ("the resumed land") then in the ownership of the Applicant ("the Claimant").
The resumption was effected pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Act 1919 by Notice published in Government Gazette No 86 of 31 May 1991. The Gazette Notice stated that the purpose of the resumption was "providing grounds for public recreation, convenience and enjoyment".
