Defamation - civil appeal against judgment for $10,000 damages in favour of the respondents for an action in defamation - material was published to Chief Executive Officer of Workcover Corporation in relation to senior officer of Corporation - issue was which test to apply to determine whether the reader of the material would conclude that it carried defamatory imputations - where material is only published and intended to be published to one person or a class of persons with a given level of knowledge due to their position or vocation, the test is whether the individual or class to whom it is published would construe the material as defamatory - in this case the material would have conveyed defamatory imputations to the individual to whom it was actually and intended to be published - assessment of damages correct - appeal dismissed.
