This was a short procedural decision by Deputy President Drake of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission. An employee, Mohamed Abdallah, had applied for relief after losing his job with Berkeley Challenge. However, the Commission found it could not help him because he was not covered by a Federal Award—a requirement for the Commission to have power to hear his case. Instead of dismissing the case entirely, the Commission transferred it to the New South Wales Industrial Commission, which might have jurisdiction to hear the matter.
