[2020] AATA 4477
appellant. The Tribunal affirmed the decision under review. The Applicant is not entitled to receive any payment of DSP from 30 January 2017.
The Administrative Appeals Tribunal rejected a claim for Disability Support Pension because the applicant's medical conditions were not 'fully treated and stabilised' at the time she applied. Although she had serious mental health issues and arthritis, she had stopped taking prescribed antidepressants after only two weeks, refused other recommended medication, and continued using marijuana despite medical advice that it worsened her paranoia. Because she had not followed reasonable treatment recommendations, the Tribunal could not assess her functional impairment under the points system, and her claim failed.
