REASONS FOR DECISION
- Mr Grant Brush is a registered osteopath in his early forties. He holds a master's degree in Osteopathy from the University of Western Sydney. He has practised at various clinics throughout Sydney since obtaining registration in December 2009 until late 2014.
- The Health Care Complaints Commission (the Commission) referred five complaints (the Complaints) about Mr Brush to the Civil and Administrative Tribunal of New South Wales (NCAT). The trigger for the Complaints was a mandatory notification made by the treating psychologist of one of Mr Brush's former patients, Patient A. Shortly after being referred to Mr Brush for treatment, Patient A and Mr Brush commenced a sexual relationship. For all but the final months of their ten-month relationship, Mr Brush continued to treat Patient A.
