This case involved an appeal against a planning permit granted by Hobart City Council for a development at 49 Melville Street. Rather than proceeding to a contested hearing, the parties reached agreement through mediation. The Tribunal approved the agreed terms, which added two conditions to the permit to protect the neighbouring property's amenity—specifically requiring lightwells and a screen wall. The parties were to bear their own costs unless a costs application was made within seven days.
