The Dean was stunned when I proved to her the HLT51612 Diploma of nursing requisites I presented. She at once knew there was a problem and agreed and ended the meeting instantly. I proceeded to stage two (although I started late again due to these hassles).[7]
Thanks for your call. This is to confirm that following my meeting with Ms Leone English, and the discussion we had on the 23-08-2013, I have withdrawn my grievance.
I thank the Dean for her assistance with my matter.[8]
Please find below these facts for your urgent action.
Department head, Program manager, and teachers conduct dishonest activity by getting students [to] repeat passed subjects, by getting them to reenrol after paying money. They last year tried it on me and I refused and made complaints, hence I wasn't made a victim. This has being (sic) going on for quite along (sic) time, as I know students who are victims. This matter was made aware by complaint to the Dean last year. But none of them have been changed or removed.
They also conduct dishonest examinations, thus bringing down the integrity and standards of examinations. This was actually reported to IBAC last year, but was withdrawn.
They now have resorted to harassing and bullying tactics of various sorts to harm informants by trying to scare and silence them. This is done skilfully in disguise, in breach of also privacy and confidentiality, and exposing victims to ridicule.
They also conduct dishonest activity with student's examination papers by removing pages. This one incident happened last year. Victoria Police was contacted twice to put them on the spot, and bear witness of page numbers, but refused to get involved.
These matters I believe highly contravene integrity, standards expected by a Registered Training Organization (RTO). Thus breaching your obligations as a RTO, and breaching the public trust.
Graham Dirckze was unsuccessful in the Mental Health clinical placement in December 2013. Feedback from the facilitator indicated that Graham left the facility following an incident of unprofessional behaviour.
I will also take this and other matters up with your senior Holmesglen officials to expose you guys, and report these serious matters/crimes.
Graham has made allegations of harassment by staff about which I attempted to obtain further details. Graham refused to provide details and instead stated that he would take this to a higher authority. His conversation was rambling and some of his comments did not appear rational.
When challenged on his poor attendance he claimed that he indeed had been attending and that staff were lying about this.
When I informed [him] about his pending failure in the theoretical component he became angry. He stated that Margaret Kerr and myself needed to have a 'mental health assessment'. He then stood up and using intimidating body language, and in a threatening tone, told me I could 'stick it up my arse'. He then abruptly left the office swearing.
I am concerned for this student's mental health, he appears to be mentally unwell and unstable at this point in time. I am also concerned for the safety of my staff and have a 'duty of care' not to allow him to have contact with patients.
His behaviour in my office was the culmination of a pattern of behaviour and I do not support him continuing in the program. Graham does not appear to have any understanding or awareness of his behaviour and its impact on those around him. I do not believe that he would be compliant in seeking medical assistance. I believe he is a potential risk to others.
I am requesting that he be expelled from the Diploma of Nursing program. I would be pleased to discuss further.
The Student Services counsellor supporting your case [Ms Harari] has confirmed that she believed your conduct in the meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Health, Science and Community Studies [Ms English] to be inappropriate, including the verbal abuse and threatening and intimidating behaviour that you displayed towards the Dean.
Assessment of all your records against the Learning Contract identified that your contract conditions were not met. The annotated Learning Contract presented by you did not provide an alternative position.
The Acting Dean, Faculty of Health, Science and Community Studies [Ms Koutoukidis] has provided evidence of attempts made to address your concerns regarding (1) the delivery of the program, (2) staff member support in preparation for clinical placement. The Acting Dean also expressed the view that, in her professional judgement, you are not suitable for clinical placement which raised concerns about your suitability for the nursing profession.
A review of your academic transcript by the Acting Dean, Faculty of Health, Science and Community Studies showed a significant number of subjects with a fail grade indicating that you had not met the academic requirements for clinical placement.
Hope ur getting thru all ur meetings, u have lawns to mow and shopping to do!!
