Summary
- Mr Burge, already the holder of a firearms licence, applied for a permit to use a firearms silencer for recreational/sporting purposes. His application was refused by the Commissioner for Police. Mr Burge now seeks a review of this decision.
- Mr Burge has nominated two reasons for seeking a silencer:
- to enable him to engage in vermin control, namely the culling of feral deer; and
- to enable him to engage in recreational hunting;
