Akers v Victoria Police (Review and Regulation) (Corrected) [2022] VCAT 720
WRITTEN REASONS (REVISED FROM TRANSCRIPT OF ORAL REASONS)
[2] It was confirmed during the hearing that the following sentence appearing in the submissions was extracted not from Hansard but, rather, from a decision by the Information Commissioner in another case. I now include that sentence because I consider that it states the correct position. 'Where a person must answer an allegation, they have a right to the recording[. O]nce any need to answer that allegation has ended, so too does their right to the document'.
