### sec.68B Entitlements of local government councillors
A councillor covered under a local government’s self-insurer’s licence is entitled under the licence to compensation from the local government to which the councillor is elected or appointed for injury sustained by the councillor while—
attending meetings of the local government; or
performing any other duty of office as a councillor.
The councillor has, subject to this section—
an entitlement to weekly payments of compensation under chapter 3 , part 9 , division 4 , subdivision 3 and division 5 , subdivision 1 ; and
for all other entitlements—the same entitlements to compensation as a worker.
The councillor is not covered for payment of damages for injury sustained by the councillor.
In the application of the definition injury to the councillor—
the activity mentioned in subsection (1) (a) or (b) is taken to be the councillor’s employment; and
the local government to which the councillor is elected or appointed is taken to be the councillor’s employer.
