### sec.604 Ex gratia payments
WorkCover may make an ex gratia lump sum payment in relation to a person who sustained an injury, on or after 1 July 1999 but before 1 July 2000, that resulted in death or could result in a WRI of 20% or more.
The payment may be made only if the person is not a worker within the meaning of the repealed Act as in force immediately before 1 July 2000 but would be a worker within the meaning of—
the repealed Act as in force on 1 July 2000; or
this Act.
A payment under this section must be in the amount decided by WorkCover, but may not be more than the amount that would be payable if the person were a worker.
(sec.604-ssec.1) WorkCover may make an ex gratia lump sum payment in relation to a person who sustained an injury, on or after 1 July 1999 but before 1 July 2000, that resulted in death or could result in a WRI of 20% or more.
(sec.604-ssec.2) The payment may be made only if the person is not a worker within the meaning of the repealed Act as in force immediately before 1 July 2000 but would be a worker within the meaning of— the repealed Act as in force on 1 July 2000; or this Act.
(sec.604-ssec.3) A payment under this section must be in the amount decided by WorkCover, but may not be more than the amount that would be payable if the person were a worker.
- (a) the repealed Act as in force on 1 July 2000; or
- (b) this Act.
