### sec.173 Redemption—worker moves abroad
This section applies if a worker receiving weekly payments of compensation stops ordinarily residing in Australia.
The worker stops being entitled to compensation.
However, if the worker satisfies the insurer that the worker’s incapacity resulting from the injury for which the compensation is payable is permanent, the worker is entitled to a redemption payment in an amount agreed between the insurer and the worker.
Subsection (2) does not apply to compensation under chapter 4A .

(sec.173-ssec.2) The worker stops being entitled to compensation.
(sec.173-ssec.3) However, if the worker satisfies the insurer that the worker’s incapacity resulting from the injury for which the compensation is payable is permanent, the worker is entitled to a redemption payment in an amount agreed between the insurer and the worker.
