### sec.6A Approved academic qualifications—additional academic qualifications for particular persons
This rule applies in relation to a person who has attained approved academic qualifications under rule 6 more than 5 years before an application for admission is made by the person.
Any academic qualifications approved by the board under this rule are approved academic qualifications for the person’s admission to the legal profession under the Legal Profession Act 2007 , in addition to the approved academic qualifications under rule 6 .
The board may approve 1 or more of the following as additional academic qualifications for the person, as the board considers appropriate—
satisfactory completion of a tertiary course, or part of a tertiary course, mentioned in rule 6 ;
passing an examination that ordinarily forms part of a tertiary course mentioned in rule 6 .
In deciding whether to approve any additional academic qualifications for the person, the board must assess—
the approved academic qualifications attained by the person; and
any relevant experience of the person.

- (a) satisfactory completion of a tertiary course, or part of a tertiary course, mentioned in rule 6 ;
- (b) passing an examination that ordinarily forms part of a tertiary course mentioned in rule 6 .

- (b) any relevant experience of the person.
