### sec.489 Acting chief executive officer
The Governor in Council may appoint a person, who is eligible for appointment as chief executive officer, to act in the office of chief executive officer during—
any vacancy, or all vacancies, in the office; or
any period, or all periods, when the chief executive officer is absent from duty, or can not, for another reason, perform the duties of the office.
- (a) any vacancy, or all vacancies, in the office; or
