### sec.61 Term of appointment
The ombudsman holds office as ombudsman for the term, of no more than 5 years, stated in the instrument of appointment.
The ombudsman holds office as inspector of detention services for the term, of no more than 5 years, stated in the instrument of appointment.
A person may be reappointed as the ombudsman and the inspector of detention services.
However, a person must not be reappointed if the total of the person’s terms of appointment as the ombudsman would be more than 10 years.

(sec.61-ssec.1) The ombudsman holds office as ombudsman for the term, of no more than 5 years, stated in the instrument of appointment.
(sec.61-ssec.2) The ombudsman holds office as inspector of detention services for the term, of no more than 5 years, stated in the instrument of appointment.
(sec.61-ssec.3) A person may be reappointed as the ombudsman and the inspector of detention services.
(sec.61-ssec.4) However, a person must not be reappointed if the total of the person’s terms of appointment as the ombudsman would be more than 10 years.
