### sec.60 Ineligibility for appointment
A person must not be appointed as the ombudsman or the inspector of detention services if the person has been, within the last 3 years—
a member of the Parliament of the State, another State or the Commonwealth; or
the holder of—
the office of the chairperson, the mayor, the president, a councillor or a member of a local government; or
an office in another State equivalent to an office mentioned in subparagraph (i) .

- (b) the holder of— (i) the office of the chairperson, the mayor, the president, a councillor or a member of a local government; or (ii) an office in another State equivalent to an office mentioned in subparagraph (i) .
