### sec.42E Functions of conciliator
The functions of a conciliator include each of the following—
encouraging the settlement of a dispute by arranging, and helping to conduct, negotiations between the parties;
promoting the open exchange by the parties of information relevant to the dispute;
giving the parties information about the operation of this Act and other laws relevant to the settlement of the dispute;

informing the parties about the conciliator’s assessment of the merits of the employment claim and the possible consequences if the claim is heard by a Magistrates Court, including the orders that may be made by the court;
helping in the settlement of the dispute in any other appropriate way.
