116A Definitions for pt 3.7
(1) In this part:
defendant means a person who has been properly served with a
summons in accordance with section 116B.
law in force in the ACT includes a statute of the Australian National
University about parking or traffic.
(2) For this part (other than section 116B (2)), a notice to defendant
form, notice of intention to defend form and plea of guilty form
includes a copy of the form printed on the back of a copy of a

(1) For this part, an offence against a law in force in the ACT is a
prescribed offence in relation to a person if—
(a) for an offence against the road transport legislation—the
maximum fine that can be imposed on the person for the offence
is 30 penalty units; or
(b) it is an offence against the Heavy Vehicle National Law (ACT);
or
(c) for any other offence—the maximum fine that can be imposed
on the person for the offence is 10 penalty units.
road transport legislation means the following:
(a) the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Act 1999;
(b) the Road Transport (General) Act 1999;
(c) the Road Transport (Public Passenger Services) Act 2001;
(d) the Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Act 1999;
(e) the Road Transport (Vehicle Registration) Act 1999;
(f) any other Act or any regulation prescribed by regulation.
