357 Investigation of defaults to which corresponding law
applies
(1) This section applies if a default appears to be a default to which a
corresponding law applies and to have—
(a) happened solely in the ACT; or
(b) happened in more than 1 jurisdiction (including the ACT); or
(c) happened in circumstances in which it cannot be decided
precisely in which jurisdiction the default happened.
(2) The law society council may act as agent of a corresponding
authority, if requested to do so by the corresponding authority, for the
purpose of processing or investigating a claim about the default or
aspects of the claim.
(3) If the law society council agrees to act as agent of a corresponding
authority under subsection (2), the council may exercise any of its
functions in relation to processing or investigating the claim or
aspects of the claim as if the claim had been made under this part.
