### sec.12 Meaning of designated person
Each of the following persons is a designated person —
a member of the Legislative Assembly;
a statutory office holder;
a chief executive of a public service entity;
a senior executive;
a chief executive of, or a senior executive equivalent employed in, a government entity who is nominated by the Minister responsible for administering the entity;
a ministerial staff member who performs the role of chief of staff (however called) in the office of a Minister;
a person, or a person within a class of persons, nominated by the Premier;
a person, or a person within a class of persons, prescribed by regulation.
A nomination under subsection (1) (e) or (fa) must be by signed notice given to the integrity commissioner.
A nomination under subsection (1) (fa) ends 28 days after the start of the nomination.
A regulation under subsection (1) (g) may prescribe the period for which the person, or a person of the class, is a designated person under this Act.
