### sec.39 Scrutiny of Bills and statements of compatibility by portfolio committee The portfolio committee responsible for examining a Bill introduced in the Legislative Assembly must— consider the Bill and report to the Assembly about whether the Bill is not compatible with human rights; and consider the statement of compatibility tabled for the Bill and report to the Assembly about the statement. - (a) consider the Bill and report to the Assembly about whether the Bill is not compatible with human rights; and - (b) consider the statement of compatibility tabled for the Bill and report to the Assembly about the statement.
