### sec.160 Disclosure of confidential information in the public interest
A designated person may disclose confidential information if—
the relevant chief executive of a Service or the department believes, on reasonable grounds, the disclosure is in the public interest; and
the relevant chief executive has, in writing, authorised the disclosure.
The annual report of the Service or the department for a financial year under the Financial Accountability Act 2009 must include a statement about—
the nature of any confidential information disclosed under subsection (1) during the financial year; and
the purpose for which the confidential information was disclosed.
However, the statement mentioned in subsection (2) (a) must not identify, directly or indirectly, the person to whom the confidential information relates.

(sec.160-ssec.1) A designated person may disclose confidential information if— the relevant chief executive of a Service or the department believes, on reasonable grounds, the disclosure is in the public interest; and the relevant chief executive has, in writing, authorised the disclosure.
(sec.160-ssec.2) The annual report of the Service or the department for a financial year under the Financial Accountability Act 2009 must include a statement about— the nature of any confidential information disclosed under subsection (1) during the financial year; and the purpose for which the confidential information was disclosed.
