### sec.217 Protection from liability
In this section—
official means—
the chief executive; or
an officer or employee of the department; or
an inspector; or
a person helping an inspector at the inspector’s direction.
An official does not incur civil liability for an act done, or omission made, honestly and without negligence under this Act.
If subsection (2) prevents a civil liability attaching to an official, the liability attaches instead to the State.
