### sec.176 False, misleading or incomplete documents
A person must not give the chief executive or an inspector a document containing information the person knows is false, misleading or incomplete in a material particular.
Maximum penalty—500 penalty units.
Subsection (1) does not apply to a person who, when giving the document—
informs the chief executive or inspector, to the best of the person’s ability, how it is false, misleading or incomplete; and
gives the correct information to the chief executive or inspector if the person has, or can reasonably obtain, the correct information.
A complaint against a person for an offence against subsection (1) is sufficient if it states the document was false, misleading or incomplete to the person’s knowledge.
