### sec.47 Commission’s monitoring role for police misconduct
The commission may, having regard to the principles stated in section 34 —
issue advisory guidelines for the conduct of investigations by the commissioner of police into police misconduct; or
review or audit the way the commissioner of police has dealt with police misconduct, in relation to either a particular complaint or a class of complaint; or
assume responsibility for and complete an investigation by the commissioner of police into police misconduct.
The commissioner of police must give the commission reasonable help to undertake a review or audit or to assume responsibility for an investigation.
If the commission assumes responsibility for an investigation, the commissioner of police must stop the commissioner’s investigation or any other action that may impede the investigation if directed to do so by the commission.

complaint , about police misconduct, includes information or matter involving police misconduct.
