### sec.46A Dealing with matters mentioned in s 33 (2)
This section applies to a matter mentioned in section 33 (2) .
The commission deals with the matter by—
assessing the matter; and
if the commission considers it appropriate, investigating the matter; and
taking the action the commission considers most appropriate in the circumstances having regard to the public interest principle set out in section 34 (d) .
For dealing with the matter, the commission may require a public official to provide stated information about the matter in the way and at the times the commission directs.
A public official must comply with a requirement made under subsection (3) .

(sec.46A-ssec.1) This section applies to a matter mentioned in section 33 (2) .

- (b) if the commission considers it appropriate, investigating the matter; and
