### sec.49 Extension of court assessment orders
An authorised officer may apply to the Childrens Court for an order to extend the term of a court assessment order for not more than 4 weeks.
This part applies, with all necessary changes, to the application as if it were an application for a court assessment order.
The court may extend the term of the order only if the court is satisfied—
the order has not ended; and
the extension is in the child’s best interests.
A court assessment order may not be extended more than once.

(sec.49-ssec.1) An authorised officer may apply to the Childrens Court for an order to extend the term of a court assessment order for not more than 4 weeks.
(sec.49-ssec.2) This part applies, with all necessary changes, to the application as if it were an application for a court assessment order.
(sec.49-ssec.3) The court may extend the term of the order only if the court is satisfied— the order has not ended; and the extension is in the child’s best interests.
(sec.49-ssec.4) A court assessment order may not be extended more than once.

- (b) the extension is in the child’s best interests.
