### sec.197 Protection from liability for officials
An official does not incur civil liability for an act done, or omission made, honestly and without negligence under this Act.
If subsection (1) prevents a civil liability attaching to an official, the liability attaches instead to the State.
In this section—
official means—
the chief executive; or
an authorised officer or police officer; or
a person acting under the direction of a person mentioned in paragraph (a) or (b) ; or
a member of the SCAN system or a representative of a member; or
a member of a review panel.
