### sec.140AC Immediate suspension
Subsection (2) applies if a prohibiting event happens to—
an approved carer, or a member of an approved carer’s household; or
the nominee for a licence, or a director of a licensee.
The chief executive must suspend the approved carer’s certificate of approval or the licence as soon as practicable after becoming aware of the prohibiting event.
Subsection (4) applies if a relevant person for an authority is issued with a negative notice under a prescribed provision.
The chief executive must suspend the authority as soon as practicable after the day the negative notice is issued, unless the chief executive decides to cancel the authority under section 140AG (3) or 140AH (1) .
However, the chief executive must not suspend an authority because a prohibiting event happens to a relevant person for the authority, or the relevant person is issued with a negative notice under a prescribed provision, if the chief executive is satisfied the person is no longer a relevant person.
