### sec.55 Court may in all cases release child without bail
If, under this Act or the Bail Act 1980 , a court may grant bail to a child and release the child from custody, the court may instead—
release the child into the custody of a parent; or
permit the child to go at large;
without bail.
The release of a child without bail must be subject to a condition that the child surrenders into the custody of the court before which the child is required to appear at the time and place for the time being appointed for the child to do so.
Subsection (1) does not limit the power of a court to grant bail.

(sec.55-ssec.1) If, under this Act or the Bail Act 1980 , a court may grant bail to a child and release the child from custody, the court may instead— release the child into the custody of a parent; or permit the child to go at large; without bail.
(sec.55-ssec.2) The release of a child without bail must be subject to a condition that the child surrenders into the custody of the court before which the child is required to appear at the time and place for the time being appointed for the child to do so.
(sec.55-ssec.3) Subsection (1) does not limit the power of a court to grant bail.
