### sec.442 WorkCover’s chief executive officer
WorkCover is to have a chief executive officer.
The chief executive officer is to be appointed by the Governor in Council, by gazette notice, on the board’s recommendation.
The chief executive officer is to be appointed under this Act and not under the Public Sector Act 2022 .
A person appointed as the chief executive officer must enter into a contract with WorkCover.
The contract must be signed for WorkCover by the board’s chairperson.
The conditions of the contract are to be decided by the board.
The contract must state the conditions of appointment, including—
a term of the contract of not longer than 5 years; and
the remuneration to which the person is entitled.
Subsection (7) (a) does not prevent the chief executive officer from being reappointed.
An industrial instrument does not apply to a person appointed as the chief executive officer.
However, subsection (9) has no effect on the Industrial Relations Act 2016 , section 471 or chapter 8 , part 2 .

(sec.442-ssec.1) WorkCover is to have a chief executive officer.

(sec.442-ssec.10) However, subsection (9) has no effect on the Industrial Relations Act 2016 , section 471 or chapter 8 , part 2 .
