### sec.194 Application and object of pt 11
This part applies if a worker dies because of an injury.
However, this part does not apply if—
a worker dies because of a latent onset injury that is a terminal condition; and
the worker had received a payment of lump sum compensation or damages for the latent onset injury under this Act, another Act or a law of another State or the Commonwealth.
The object of this part is to provide for payment by an insurer of—
particular expenses arising from the worker’s injury and death; and
compensation to persons having an entitlement to compensation under this part.

(sec.194-ssec.1) This part applies if a worker dies because of an injury.
(sec.194-ssec.2) However, this part does not apply if— a worker dies because of a latent onset injury that is a terminal condition; and the worker had received a payment of lump sum compensation or damages for the latent onset injury under this Act, another Act or a law of another State or the Commonwealth.
(sec.194-ssec.3) The object of this part is to provide for payment by an insurer of— particular expenses arising from the worker’s injury and death; and compensation to persons having an entitlement to compensation under this part.
- (a) a worker dies because of a latent onset injury that is a terminal condition; and
- (b) the worker had received a payment of lump sum compensation or damages for the latent onset injury under this Act, another Act or a law of another State or the Commonwealth.
- (a) particular expenses arising from the worker’s injury and death; and
- (b) compensation to persons having an entitlement to compensation under this part.
