### sec.153 Authorised officers
For this Act, the following officers are authorised officers—
the commissioner, an executive officer or commissioned officer;
a police officer appointed as an authorised officer by the commissioner.
However, a police officer may be appointed as an authorised officer only if, in the commissioner’s opinion, the officer has the necessary expertise or experience to be an authorised officer.
An authorised officer mentioned in subsection (1) (a) may delegate the authorised officer’s powers under part 2 or part 3 , division 3 to the following—
a police officer;
a staff member of the police service under the Police Service Administration Act 1990 .
However, a power may be delegated under subsection (3) only if, in the authorised officer’s opinion, the police officer or staff member has the necessary expertise or experience to exercise the power.

(sec.153-ssec.1) For this Act, the following officers are authorised officers— the commissioner, an executive officer or commissioned officer; a police officer appointed as an authorised officer by the commissioner.
