### sec.52 When water efficiency management plan may be required The chief executive may, by written direction, require a water service provider to give a customer, or type of customer, a written notice— to prepare a plan (a water efficiency management plan ); and to give it to the water service provider within the reasonable period stated by the chief executive. The water service provider must comply with the direction. Maximum penalty—500 penalty units. A water service provider may, without direction, give a customer, or type of customer, a written notice— to prepare a plan (also a water efficiency management plan ); and to give it to the water service provider within the reasonable period stated by the water service provider. The customer must comply with a notice given by the water service provider under subsection (1) or (3) . Maximum penalty—500 penalty units. A plan prepared as a water efficiency management plan under a requirement of a service provider water restriction is also a water efficiency management plan for this section.
