### sec.116 Granting a water licence under a process in a plan or regulation
Subsection (2) applies if a water plan, water management protocol or regulation states a process for the allocation of water, or interference with the flow of water, under a water licence.
The chief executive may grant a water licence under this section in accordance with the process without the need for an application to be made under section 107 .
Within 30 business days after the chief executive grants the licence, the chief executive must give the licensee the licence and a notice about the granting of the licence in the way stated in section 114 .
The licence has effect from the day the licence is given to the licensee.
