### sec.1058 Reinstating particular expired licences in former water areas
This section applies to a licence in a former water area if—
the former water area was continued in existence under section 1083(2); and
under the licence the registered owner of land was supplied with water; and
the licence has expired; and
the registered owner has continued to be supplied with water as if the licence had not expired.
The chief executive may reinstate the licence by granting a water licence under this Act without an application being made under section 221—
if the former water area’s former water board was continued in existence as a water authority under section 1083(3)—to the water authority; or
otherwise—to the chief executive.
A water licence granted under subsection (2) is taken to have been in force from the day the licence it replaced expired.

(sec.1058-ssec.1) This section applies to a licence in a former water area if— the former water area was continued in existence under section 1083(2); and under the licence the registered owner of land was supplied with water; and the licence has expired; and the registered owner has continued to be supplied with water as if the licence had not expired.
(sec.1058-ssec.2) The chief executive may reinstate the licence by granting a water licence under this Act without an application being made under section 221— if the former water area’s former water board was continued in existence as a water authority under section 1083(3)—to the water authority; or otherwise—to the chief executive.
(sec.1058-ssec.3) A water licence granted under subsection (2) is taken to have been in force from the day the licence it replaced expired.
- (a) the former water area was continued in existence under section 1083(2); and
- (b) under the licence the registered owner of land was supplied with water; and
- (c) the licence has expired; and
- (d) the registered owner has continued to be supplied with water as if the licence had not expired.
- (a) if the former water area’s former water board was continued in existence as a water authority under section 1083(3)—to the water authority; or
- (b) otherwise—to the chief executive.
